5th Annual Meeting, Uppsala, May 2012

Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials warmly welcomes you to the 5th Annual Meeting to be held in Uppsala, Sweden, 8-9th May 2012, hosted by the president of the society, Professor Håkan Engqvist, and co-workers. Both invited and contributed podium and poster presentations will be on the agenda, and researchers from both inside and outside Scandinavia are welcome to submit a contribution. Abstract submission is now open and will close on the 31st January 2012. Abstract acceptance information will be sent out on the 28th February 2012. Biomaterials go NANO

news image The 4th Annual meeting of the Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials (ScSB) will be held in Fiskebäckskil, a small fishing village in Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast. This year’s program puts the spotlight on nanoscience and technology in biomaterials research and development. With plenary lectures from distinguished researchers, invited and contributed oral talks and poster sessions, we aim to gather the latest biomaterials research in this area from both Scandinavia and abroad. news image Within Danish Student Society for Biomaterials we pursue to gather students with interest in biomaterials in order to develop a society that can serve as a bridge between Danish students among. In the long term, this connection can be improved to include students and other interest groups around the Scandinavia In addition, we aim to build valuable communication and networking with research organizations and companies inside and outside Denmark. Biological Surface and Interfaces

news image The programme is organised into invited presentations by internationally renowned researchers, complemented by shorter contributed oral presentations and poster sessions by young scientists. Selected after-dinner keynote speakers have been invited to put the biointerface field in a larger scientific, clinical and social context. A small-group discussion session is planned to address social and ethical issues of the impact of the technologies and scientific knowledge being developed and used in this area.
