Following the recent developments in the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone ScSB 2020, which was due to take place in Jurmala, Latvia on 10th – 12th June 2020.

As demands on the health service will increase significantly over the next few months, and Latvian government has recently recommended social distancing and restricting travel we do not feel it is appropriate for us to run large-scale events. Our conference brings together professionals from all Europe, and our ScSB Organizing Committee is keen to avoid the risk of transmission to our delegates.
The ScSB 2020 will now take place from 28th – 30th October 2020 remaining at the Hotel Jūrmala Spa in Jurmala, Latvia and we will automatically be moving the current programme over to the October schedule and hope that you are available to attend at this time.

Done so far and next steps:
81 abstracts have been accepted. Represented 19 countries: the abstract authors from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, The Netherlands, UK, Belgium, The United States of America and Turkey.
Each of the submitted abstract was independently and carefully reviewed by members of the ScSB 2020 Scientific Committee. All abstracts were assessed by the same scientific criteria.

ScSB 2020 scientific program will be available via website: Now you can see the preliminary agenda.

As the ScSB 2020 has been postponed to a later date (28th-30th October 2020) the abstract submission has been reopened! The ScSB 2020 Scientific Committee is pleased to invite authors to submit their abstracts for oral, poster presentations until 1st of July 2020!

THE TOPIC of ScSB 2020 will be dedicated to “Customized Solutions” in any kind of areas connected with biomaterials. This can be related to, e.g., in vitro and in vivo models for specific applications, chemical composition and structure of implant materials, drug delivery systems and applications in clinic.
